There's a warning Thursday morning for Tulsa drivers. Tulsa Police are cracking down on red light runners. It's a serious problem.

We spent just a half hour with officers Wednesday, and saw half a dozen red light violations in that short time. Nationwide, red light running causes 200,000 accidents a year. 1,000 deaths. And 150,000 injuries.

Every officer has at least one accident story. Tulsa Police Sgt Rick Bondy, “a lady in a van ran a red light she got hit, spun around, she flew out the vehicle, and landed in a pile in the middle of the street. She survived."

The Tulsa Police motorcycle unit began its crackdown last month. Since then, more than 250-tickets have been written.
