2nd District Congressman Brad Carson says US Senator Jim Inhofe is the key to moving people out of Tar Creek. But Inhofe flatly rejects relocation as a solution.
News on 6 anchor Tami Marler talked with Inhofe about that issue and many others surrounding the Tar Creek controversy. Inhofe is chairman of the most powerful environmental committee in the US Senate. He's met with local officials in Washington DC, but has never met with them here.
Inhofe says he wants to take action without politicizing the issue. "That's the reason that you don't see me up there with town hall meetings where you're going to have to be making commitments. I'd rather wait until we have something that we know is going to work and then clean up the mess."
Inhofe says he now has a plan to solve the myriad of problems with Tar Creek. He expects to release details of that plan in two weeks.
