Mexican teenager drowns at Turner Falls

(Davis-AP) -- A Mexican teenager has drowned while swimming at Turner Falls State Park in southern Oklahoma.

Davis police say 16-year-old Emmanual Torres was visiting the park north of Ardmore with family members from Dallas when he drowned while swimming in the falls.

Police Chief Darryl McCurtain says Torres began struggling and went under water about 3:30 Sunday afternoon. McCurtain says the boy's body was recovered about 30 minutes later.

Authorities say the drowning is the first at the park in two years.
