Some area students got to put their chemistry lesson to practice Thursday. It was TU's first ever Chem-E-Car competition.
Teams made small cars out of bottles and powered them with chemicals like baking soda and vinegar. The students didn't know until an hour before the lesson, how far they had to make the car go. Then they had to figure out how much chemicals they needed.
Some cars took off, others didn't even move.
