(Oklahoma City-AP) -- Jane Jayroe is resigning as director of the state Tourism Department.

Jayroe says Governor Henry and cabinet secretary Kathy Taylor have indicated they want to take the department in a new direction.

She says she's supportive of their decision.

But Jayroe expressed dissatisfaction with funding of the tourism agency through the years.

Jayroe was named cabinet secretary of tourism and director of the tourism agency in 1999. She resigned her cabinet post in January.

Her resignation as tourism director is effective Friday.
