(Oklahoma City-AP) -- Four people saved themselves by jumping out second-floor windows in a burning apartment building in Oklahoma City.
One man broke his leg as he jumped 15 feet to the ground about 4:20 AM Sunday.
Gene Spainhour says he woke up and saw flashes of light under his front door, then opened the door to find fire racing up the stairs.
He put on a pair of jeans before jumping out the window.
Spainhour landed in a small hole left from recent landscaping. His left leg snapped, breaking two bones.
Antonio Martinez sprained his ankle on a jump from his bedroom window. The two other jumpers weren't hurt.
The fire destroyed eight apartments and damaged eight others.
The cause of the blaze remains under investigation.
