A Tulsa man is in jail charged with sex crimes. Tulsa Police say he arranged to meet an 11-year-old girl at a local motel to have sex. He was arrested by officers when he arrived.

Detectives say Darwin Smith - also known as "Trey" - confessed he went to the motel expecting the girl to be waiting for him. A confidential informant led police to Smith. She says Smith asked her to arrange sex with a girl under the age of 12. The woman contacted police.

Tulsa Police detective Marnie Walker, "The best part about it for me is a citizen coming forward and being so cooperative because without her help this never would've happened.â€

Smith is charged with soliciting a child for prostitution.
