US Marine Thomas Blair's death has brought the war much closer to home for some who realized he was exceptional a long time ago.

Blair's grandmother used to bring him to Arrow Heights Baptist Church as a child. Several members, like Kelly Keech, have fond memories of the boy who grew up to serve his country. "The reason I remember him is because I was the Cub Scout leader and whenever he would show up he was always happy ready to do what needed to be done in the evening.â€

The members of Arrow Heights Church are also starting a support group for military families dealing with loved ones serving overseas.
