A bill to lower the minimum age for carrying a concealed weapon is in the works.
It would lower the minimum age from 23 to 21.
Historic military re-enactors and active duty military personnel would be authorized to carry concealed weapons.
That would change the Oklahoma Self Defense Act, which allows state residents for at least six months to apply for a permit. Applicants must complete a firearms training and safety course.
The State senate passed the bill, which now goes to the full House for consideration.
