A war of words is underway on the sidewalks of the Oklahoma State University campus in Stillwater where hate-filled messages about homosexuality have been written in chalk.
Campus police say they are investigating the messages, trying to find out who is responsible for them. But the University will not say if they consider the messages a hate crime. Something openly gay student Joshua Collier disagrees with. "I do view this as a hate crime this is something that strikes fear right into the heart of the people it's intended for."
Gay and lesbian students aren't the only ones who say the comments are offensive. Many heterosexual students have expressed their disgust at the anti-gay comments.
In response, someone is now writing positive messages about homosexuality alongside the negative ones.
