The old Children's Medical Center on Skelly Drive will have new owners soon. Regent Preparatory School of Oklahoma has signed a contract on the old complex. Founded in 1999, it teaches what they call the classical Christian concept.

Andy Shapleigh, the headmaster at the school, says despite the economic challenges, he's confident the money can be raised to buy the property. â€œItâ€™s certainly going to be a walk of diligence, a walk of faith for us. We just feel this particular facility has such is such an important facility for Tulsa, we feel like as we work together with people in Tulsa, individuals, foundations and other people we're going to find some people who want to preserve this landmark and use it for children for generations to come.â€

Regent currently leases space at the old Bates Elementary School and currently has 165 students. It hopes to start school in the new facility by the fall of 2004.
