There are lions and tigers and bears, and most certainly elephants at this year's Akdar Shrine Circus.

The animals started arriving at the Fairgrounds Pavilion Thursday. The circus starts Friday, and runs all weekend.

Besides the animals, this year's circus features new show-stopping acts, from the Globe of Death to BMX bicycles. There are a number of performances running through Sunday evening.

All proceeds from the circus go to help transport young children with birth defects and burns to Shriner's Hospitals.

Friday: 4:30pm, 8:15pm
Saturday: 10:30am, 2:30pm, 6:30pm
Sunday: 10:30am, 6:30pm
