(Tahlequah-AP) -- A former district attorney in northeastern Oklahoma has a new job.

Dianne Barker Harrold has been hired as attorney general for the United Keetoowah Band.

Harrold lost her re-election bid in November after serving since 1995 as district attorney for Cherokee, Adair, Sequoyah and Wagoner counties.

Barker Harrold has served as a judge for 13 tribes and as a public defender for three tribes.

Topping the agenda in her new job with the Keetowahs is establishing a tribal court and working through an old dispute with the Cherokee Nation.
