A Tulsa woman took her newborn baby to Tulsa Regional Medical Center Monday night to leave it there.

Tulsa Police say the 27-year-old woman originally told hospital staff that a 10-year-old girl had given birth to the child and left it with her, but she later it admitted it was hers.

If the mother refuses to take the baby, she'll be the first person in Tulsa to abandon a child since the new law went into effect that says if you abandon a baby at a medical center, you will not be prosecuted.
