A Tulsa school is giving new meaning to the term "school spirit." Students at Mingo Valley Christian School wrapped up their annual "Spirit Week" Friday with a special assembly.
Kindergarten students up through the 6th grade collected food, toiletries and school supplies for the John 3:16 Mission. The school says it’s exceeded this year's goal of 10,000 pounds of food.
Principal Dennis Queen says it's been a busy week. "We have different events each week. Different teams with contests. This is also a week where we train our 6th graders in leadership. And the 6th graders have really been the ones to make this roll, it’s been exciting for them.â€
This is the 15th year the school has helped John 3:16.
