The state of Oklahoma wants to shut down a Tulsa business that helps Oklahomans get Canadian pharmaceuticals.
The Oklahoma Pharmacy Board has sent two cease-and-desist orders to Rx-Depot at 4908 South Memorial. It opened two months ago.
Owners say it is not a pharmacy. They say, all they do is use a Canadian pharmacist to review and fill the orders. The pharmacist ships the drugs directly to customers.
Partner David Peoples says the demand for affordable medicine is so high; his business is preparing to launch franchises across the country.
The Food and Drug Administration says importing prescription drugs is illegal.
