The cold weather caused some problems for firefighters trying to battle an early morning blaze near Sapulpa in Creek County.

Fire investigators think the fire may have been sparked by an electrical problem with a hot water heater. A woman inside the house near 121st and Sahoma Lake Road heard the smoke alarm and smelled smoke. She and her two children were able to escape safely.

Firefighters had a hard time dousing the flames because the temperatures continually froze the intakes on the trucks.

Damage is estimated at around $200,000.
