It's a growing problem and Tulsa Police are cracking down on the "BB gun bandits."

Wednesday night vandals shot out the windows of four Brookside area businesses and two more near Cherry Street. News on Six anchor Tami Marler says when we were younger, kids might have toilet-papered houses or shoe-polished cars to have a little late night fun. Well, today, things have changed.

Tulsa Police say vandals with BB guns have shot out more than 350 windows at Tulsa businesses and churches since November. The total cost to business owners, now runs into the hundreds of thousands of dollars.

Billy Hood of City Glass of Tulsa says he and his partner have replaced ten windows Thursday alone and they've been busier in the last six weeks than they've been in five years in business. "Yes ma'am it is, it's real good for my business you know but it's not good for my customers because they're getting tired of it you know? Their insurance rates are going sky high.â€

"I think it would be a great relief to everybody and monetary wise it would be a relief to these business owners to quit calling the glass plant to replace expensive windows.â€ Scott Walton says Tulsa Police have organized a task force to deal with BB gun vandals.
