One person is dead following a single vehicle accident in south Tulsa. Police say the driver of a pick-up was going about 100-miles per hour.

When officers caught up to him, his truck was wrapped around a tree at 5800 South Harvard, and engulfed in flames. The driver died in his vehicle. The fire was so intense; it took firefighters a while to put out the flames.

But that wasn't their only problem though. Tulsa Fire Captain Mitch Parnell, â€œthe pick up when it left the road took out a power pole. We got 600 feet of unsupported wire right now and we have wires around the tree right above the pickup that are on fire.â€

Firefighters had to wait for PSO to shut off power to the lines so they could put out the tree fire, and move the truck.

The victimâ€™s name hasn't been released.
