A Bartlesville man in police custody is being investigated for two unsolved murders in Bartlesville.

Leotis Wooten is being held in the Washington County Jail on a grand larceny charge, but he’s also claiming he’s responsible for murders in 1983 and 1985.

A Bartlesville Police investigator testified in a Washington County District Court hearing this week, that Wooten was serving a prison sentence when he told a fellow prisoner about the two killings.

Officers say DNA evidence taken from the victims and from Wooten is now being tested.
