Governor Brad Henry isn't wasting any time dealing with the education funding crisis.

He met Tuesday with school and community leaders in Oklahoma City to share ideas at an Education Coalition Summit. And they talked about everything from how schools are funded, to partnering with business and community leaders.

Several possible solutions were discussed, including a tax increase. But Tulsa's School superintendent, Dr David Sawyer says even more is needed. "I think that the state legislature needs to include in its list of options, the prospect of increasing its revenues. And of course, tax increases will be one of those. But I think that they need to take a look at the waterfront. There are all kinds of things that can be done.”

Oklahoma educators say something needs to be done before April, because 5,000 teachers could be laid off.
