The number of homeless in Tulsa is on the rise. Officials say local shelters are averaging 550 people a night.
That's an increase of about 100 people from three years ago. So local advocates are rethinking an emergency shelter plan to accommodate the homeless.
The increase is attributed to a lack of affordable housing, declining public assistance, domestic violence and mental illness.
