BOLEY, Okla. (AP) _ A night without food or heat proved to be too much for two escapees from a Boley prison.
Okfuskee County Sheriff's Deputy Jim Rasmussen found Mickey Covington and Bobby Parker shivering underneath a pecan tree about 12 miles northeast of Boley Sunday afternoon.
Covington, 29, and Parker, 27, escaped Saturday from John Lilley Correctional Center.
Covington, a Tulsa resident, was imprisoned for rape by instrumentation, and Parker, of Oklahoma City, was in for three counts of armed robbery and a count of shooting with intent to kill.
``I appreciated them not running because I didn't feel like shooting anybody today,'' Rasmussen said.
He attributed the arrest to a call deputies received regarding two men in gray sweatpants and sweatshirts walking down a rural road.
``This is a rural area, so everybody knows when there's a prison break and everybody's kind of a little bit more observant,'' he said.
There was no immediate information on how or when the pair escaped. Prison officials declined comment.
