(Oklahoma City-AP) -- A series of events will welcome Brad Henry as the state's next governor before and after his inauguration January 13th.

Inaugural committee chairman Susan Turpen says the schedule is designed to allow as many Oklahomans as possible to take part.

She says there will be less pomp and circumstance because of budget woes.

The events begin with an inaugural gala at the Mayo Hotel in Tulsa on January 10th and conclude with a dinner and inaugural ball at the Cox Convention Center on the 13th.

The Shawnee Democrat will be sworn in at the Capitol before the inaugural ball.

The Oklahoma City ball will include ``Baylee's Ball'' for younger children in honor of Henry's youngest daughter.
