(Los Angeles-AP) -- Oklahoma's football team won the national championship in 2000 and was in the hunt again each of the past two years.
Will the 2003 season be any different?
The 12-and-2 Sooners have ten starters returning on defense and plenty of experienced players coming back on offense. It appears they're positioned to make another run at a Big 12 title and contend on the national scene.
The Sooners wrapped up their 2002 season with a 34-to-14 victory over Washington State in the Rose Bowl.
It was a defensive effort Oklahoma fans have come to expect, not a head-scratcher like the Sooners had in their losses to Texas A&M and Oklahoma State.
