Family time has run out for thousands of troops who will leave their families for missions in the Middle East.
Close to a thousand Oklahoma National Guard members spent ten days at home across the state for the holidays. Among them was Glenn Sheppard. He says it was wonderful to see his wife and daughter.
But now, Sheppard is preparing to leave again. He shipped out Thursday morning. "I’m just all tensed up, I feel like I’m being dragged away from my family again after just getting settled in.â€
Sheppard’s wife, Katherine, "I was gonna write the Guard a note to excuse him from this deployment, year, I’m dreading tomorrow."
The families are thankful to Wal-Mart and other organizations, which paid for the guard members to come home.
