Some Okies were told to go jump in a lake Wednesday, and they did, sort of.
It was the annual Polar Bear Club Jet Ski classic at Fort Gibson Lake. The water was 38 degrees and the club president Rhett Wilburn says being on a jet ski isn't any warmer than being in the water, but he said it's a tradition. "Well because it's New Year's Day and we want to start the year off with a bang."
The only requirement to take a chilly dip in the lake was to bring firewood for a bonfire afterwards.
