STILLWATER, Okla. (AP) _ Local and state law officers searched Saturday for two men who escaped from a northeast Oklahoma prison.
David Leeon King, 20, of Stillwater and Bobby Satawake, 18, were discovered missing around 4:05 a.m. from the Dick Conner Correctional Center in Hominy, northwest of Tulsa.
Guards discovered the men were missing from the minimum security unit of the prison during a routine inmate count, said Mike Bolt, a spokesman for the facility.
Both men were convicted of nonviolent felonies, but officials now consider them to be dangerous.
Stillwater police arrested King June 1 after he crashed a stolen car. King had been released from the Payne County Jail the day before, but allegedly took the vehicle from the parking lot of Stillwater Medical Center just hours after his release.
King accepted a plea agreement with Payne County prosecutors in January and was transferred to the custody of the Department of Corrections. He was serving time for embezzlement, larceny of an auto, burglary of an auto and possession of a stolen vehicle for the June incident.
Satawake was serving a five-year sentence for several counts of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and receiving or possessing stolen property in Okmulgee County.
Brown is described as a white male, standing 5-feet-10 and weighing 169 pounds. He has brown eyes and brown hair and has several tattoos.
Satawake is described as an American Indian male, standing 5-feet-9 and weighing 145 pounds.
Anyone with information on the escapees is asked to call officials at the Dick Conner Correctional Facility at (918) 885-2192.
