ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) _ The Texas Rangers purchased the contract of left-handed reliever Rich Rodriguez from Triple-A Oklahoma on Friday.
Rodriguez came to Texas from Atlanta on Monday for a player to be named.
Texas also placed right-hander Jovanny Cedeno on the 60-day disabled list with right shoulder problems.
With the moves, the Rangers still had 31 players on their major league roster. That included 18 pitchers, 13 of which manager Jerry Narron said will be on the opening day roster Monday.
