Tulsa School officials are wanting to make school days longer. Officials want to reduce the number of in-class days for students to allow for more teacher training days.
They have asked the State Board of Education for permission to add 15 minutes to each school day. That would reduce the number of days from 175 to 168 and give teachers seven more days to focus on math, science and reading sessions.
The state board must approve the plan.
