When numbers from the special light goose season come in, officials aren't expecting that big of a haul.
The special season was established by the U-S Fish and Wildlife Department as a way to control light geese populations.
But wildlife experts say weather and migration patterns are causing geese to fly elsewhere.
Biologist Mike O'Meilia says the geese aren't slim because Oklahoma hunters aren't doing their part.
Excessive numbers of light geese can cause the destruction of habitats.
Federal officials say they hope the special season will cut down on the population.
