The once highly-touted diet drug Meridia... is now under fire.

The consumer group Public Citizen calls Meridia "unacceptably dangerous" and wants the government to ban it.

The Food and Drug Administration says more than two dozen people
have died worldwide who were taking the drug Meridia.

And a spokeswoman for the drug's maker says the company also knows of deaths of people who took Meridia.

But officials don't know if the deaths are related to the drug.
