(Tulsa-AP) -- Employees of Albertson's Incorporated's Tulsa distribution center will face layoffs after the company closes stores in Tennessee and Texas.
Albertson's spokesman Ertharin Cousin says there will be layoffs at the Tulsa distribution center as the Idaho-based company closes stores in other markets.
The Tulsa distribution center opened in 1999 and has more than 300 employees. The Tulsa World quotes a source as saying 30 to 40 percent of the staff could be affected by the cutbacks.
The center stores dry goods, frozen foods, produce, meat and deli items and serves 70 to 80 stores in the region.
