OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) _ A memorial service for state Sen. Larry Dickerson will be held Monday in the Senate chamber.

The body of Dickerson, who died Thursday at age 45 after a three-year battle with cancer, will lie in state in the Capitol's second floor rotunda Monday morning until the memorial service begins at 2 p.m.

The senator's funeral will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Poteau at the Mick Thompson Fieldhouse at Carl Albert State College. The Senate and House will not meet that day so legislators can attend the service.

Dickerson served in the Senate 16 years, representing LeFlore County and a portion of Sequoyah County.

A graduate of the University of Oklahoma law school, Dickerson maintained a private practice in Poteau, where he lived with his wife, Dee Ann, and their son, John.
