TULSA, Okla. (AP) _ An Oklahoma City man has been charged with negligent homicide in connection with the traffic death of a Broken Arrow woman.

Tulsa County prosecutors charged Perry Landry Jr. with the misdemeanor count on Wednesday.

Landry, 44, was taken into custody Feb. 22 after the sport utility vehicle he was driving failed to stop at a red light in Broken Arrow and struck the vehicle Terryann McKinzie was driving, police reports indicate.

McKinzie, 45, was pronounced dead at the scene, police Lt. Kevin Marks said.

Landry's vehicle hit another car at the intersection before coming to a stop, authorities said. Neither Landry nor the driver of that car was severely injured.

According to a police report, Landry appeared to have an odor of alcohol on his breath and ``red/ watery eyes.''

Officers found three empty 1-quart beer bottles and a half-full bottle of beer after searching his vehicle.

In addition to the negligent homicide count, Landry also has been charged with transporting beer in an open container, driving without insurance security verification and driving without a license _ all misdemeanors.

He could be ordered to pay $1,000 in fines if convicted of negligent homicide.

``There is a blood test that we're going to wait for the analysis on, and the charges could change depending on the evidence,'' said Caleb Raynolds, an assistant district attorney.

Police administered a blood test to Landry after his arrest because someone was killed in the accident, police reports show.

According to Oklahoma County District Court records, Landry was convicted in 1995 of attempted burglary and possession of cocaine and drug paraphernalia. He was convicted in 1994 of possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia, driving under the influence and attempting to elude a police officer.

Landry was imprisoned from September 1995 to August 1998 for the Oklahoma County convictions, a state Department of Corrections spokeswoman said. He also has a 1994 Cleveland County conviction for public drunkenness.
