(Oklahoma City-AP) -- Members of the state House of Representatives Wednesday honored NBA great Kareem Abdul-Jabbar.

Abdul-Jabbar is in Oklahoma to announce he'll coach the Oklahoma Storm of the US Basketball League. The Storm owner is a former member of the House, as is the team's manager.

The House proclaimed Wednesday Kareem Abdul-Jabbar Day.
