It's the most frequently committed violent crime in the US and Oklahoma. Drunk driving killed more than 16,000 people in 2000.
Now Oklahoma Governor Frank Keating hopes a new campaign will give drivers a reason to bank on tomorrow. The project is sponsored by the banks of Oklahoma, local law enforcement and Mothers Against Drunk Driving.
It brings a graphic illustration of the consequences of drunk driving, a car totaled in an alcohol-related crash. The "Don't Drink and Drive" message came to Tulsa Wednesday.
Those participating in the program say it's a problem that's 100% preventable, and they hope seeing is believing.
