VAN BUREN, Ark. (AP) _ Investigators suspect two men were involved in the deaths of two Oklahoma men whose bodies were found in the Arkansas River near Dyer.
Crawford County sheriff's Sgt. Dannie Phillips says investigators believe the two suspects are from out of state and left the area after the killings.
The two were being sought for questioning in connection with the deaths of Chris Hoang, 28, and Ron Dung Vo, 23, both of Oklahoma City. The men's bodies were pulled Saturday from the river, according to a sheriff's office report. Each had been shot in the face.
Sheriff's investigator Aaron Beshears said the double homicide was reported Saturday by a 21-year-old man from Wichita, Kan., who said he was a witness to the incident.
The man told investigators he met with four other people by the river around midday Saturday, and the encounter led to an altercation. The man reported that the suspects tried to shoot him but he was able to escape. The man told investigators the two suspects shot the two Oklahoma City men.
