17 charities have filed a lawsuit against the city of Tulsa. They claim the city didn't allow them to take contributions through payroll deductions as the United Way does.

Community Health Charities represents health related charities outside the United Way, like The American Heart Association. It says the city has ignored periodic requests to be included in payroll deductions since 1989.

The group wants the court to award contributions the charities say they would have received if they had been allowed to participate in other campaigns.
