TULSA, Okla. (AP) _ Dan Beus scored 22 points as Southern Utah beat Oral Roberts 71-70 in overtime Thursday night.

The Thunderbirds (7-11, 4-2 Mid-Continent) got their first conference road win of the season, while the Golden Eagles (10-11, 4-2) lost their ninth straight overtime game.

Southern Utah's Brian Gardner made two free throws with 30 seconds left to tie the game at 62. Gardner finished with 11 points.

ORU, which rallied from a 13 point deficit, had a chance to win at the end of regulation but Richie Myers missed a wide-open layup.

Oral Roberts led 70-67 with two minutes left in overtime but Beus hit a short bank shot to give Southern Utah the lead for good at 70-69.

Luke Spencer-Gardner scored a career-high 29 points for the Golden Eagles. Reggie Borges added 15 points and 11 rebounds.
