Tulsa's homeless population will benefit from a new federal grant of nearly two million dollars.

The money will support the efforts of several groups who address the needs of homeless families and homeless individuals with disabilities. Major Marshall Gesner with the Salvation Army: "It's not just a matter of roof over the head and job to put food on the table, you have to have transportation to get to work you have to have some means of having your children taken care of when you're not there."

The infusion of taxpayer money is the largest grant ever for the homeless in the city of Tulsa.
