City of Tulsa considering layoffs

Tulsa Mayor Susan Savage is warning of possible layoffs and salary reductions for the city.

She says the layoffs would be a way to make up for a projected $10-12-million city budget shortfall. Although the mayor as been looking for other ways to save money, she says some cuts may be necessary to avoid bigger reductions later.

City councilor Sam Roop says it's too early to start talking layoffs, since there is such economic uncertainty right now.
