The Tulsa Community Food Bank got a little help this Thanksgiving holiday. They got a check for more than $50,000 Tuesday.
The check is part of an emergency food fund approved by Congress last summer. The food bank says the money can be used now more than ever since their donations are down a bit in the wake of the September 11th terrorist attacks. Sara Waggoner with the Tulsa Community Food Bank, "it costs us a mere 14 cents a pound to distribute food, so this $50-thousand will help us distribute food."
If you'd like to donate to the Tulsa Community Food bank you can call them at 585-2800. They are also in need of volunteers.
