DALLAS (AP) _ Iowa State running back Ennis Haywood, Oklahoma State cornerback Darrent Williams and kicker Tim Duncan of Oklahoma were named Big 12 players of the week Monday.
Haywood rushed 35 times for 185 yards and a career-high four touchdowns to lead Iowa State to its biggest road victory since the start of the Big Six Conference in 1928 a 49-7 win at Kansas. He scored on first half TD runs of one, six, 13 and four yards to give the Cyclones a 28-0 lead.
Williams led the Oklahoma State defense with two interceptions, both of which he returned for touchdowns in a 38-22 victory at Baylor. It was the first time in school history the same player returned two interceptions for touchdowns and tied the NCAA Division I-A record for TD interception returns with two.
Williams also had 11 tackles and two pass deflections.
Duncan hit all three of his field goal tries, from 42, 25 and 30 yards, in a 30-13 win at Texas Tech, making it 10 consecutive field goals for the kicker. Duncan also became the fourth OU kicker to hit more than 40 field goals.
