Quick work by News on Six photojournalist Gary Kruse overnight helped authorities catch a suspected thief.

A call went out about a stolen American flag from the Federal Building in downtown Tulsa around four o'clock Wednesday morning. Kruse spotted the man wearing it and called police.

Tulsa Police officer Chris Darden: "Channel 6 called us just a few minutes later and said they had spotted the subject about 9th and Main. We responded there and found the subject wearing the American flag. He told us someone had taken his pants and so he was going to borrow the flag."

The man was taken into custody. He faces felony charges. Officials recovered the flag and promptly hung it back up on the Federal Building.
