Tulsa Public Schools awarded a contract for construction of the new Booker T Washington High School at a school board meeting Monday evening.

The Flintco Company will manage construction of the $23 million project, financed with 1999 school bond money. The school bond proposal to be voted on November 13th includes $1.5 million for demolition of the old building and preservation of the historic Washington facade.

Construction is set to begin this week, and ought to be finished in August, 2003.
