A new contender for Tulsa mayor has stepped into the ring. Tulsa district 4 City councilor Gary Watts made his announcement this weekend.
Watts is a former Tulsa School Board member and revenue and finance commissioner. He says he is ready to meet the challenges of the city's top job. "No other person who has announced for this office has a record of public service to demonstrate a public commitment to and solid accomplishments for our city."
Watts will run against fellow Democrat Paul Tay and Independent candidate Doctor Milton Goodwin as well as Republicans, Terry Simonson, Reverend Carlton Pearson, Ray McCollum, Steve Edwards and former DA Bill Lafortune.
