DETROIT (AP) _ For the second time since April, General Motors Corp. is recalling three of its minivan models to repair a problem with their power sliding doors.

GM said Wednesday it is recalling 314,000 1997 to 2001 Chevrolet Venture, Pontiac Trans Sport/Montana and Oldsmobile Silhouette minivans because of poorly-made welds.

``If the welds do not hold, they could separate and the actuator could jam in the unlatched position,'' Jeanne Merchant, GM assistant vehicle line executive, said in a statement.

An unlatched power sliding door could open under certain conditions, she said.

GM says there have been no reports of accidents or injuries related to the problem.

The automaker recalled 558,000 of the minivans in April to repair the actuators, said GM spokesman Michael Morrissey. Approximately 276,000 vehicles were brought for repairs.

The actuators were replaced, but during subsequent evaluations, engineers found the new parts plus those installed in approximately 38,000 minivans built after those included in the first campaign had the bad welds.
