All aboard for better breathing. Kids at Cherokee Elementary School in Tulsa boarded the bus Wednesday that tests people for asthma. The lung disease is the leading chronic illness in children in the US.

Doctors aren't sure why some people get asthma and some don't. So the American Lung Association is touring schools to help educate those kids who are at risk of developing the disease and giving them free screenings.

Amber Jaworsky with the American Lung Association, "You can get asthma at any age. So what we try and do is catch it while they're young and undiagnosed, so we can hook them up with the proper medical services and to put them on an asthma management plan and hopefully empower them to take control of their disease and not let the disease control them."

The American Lung Association is hosting another screening next Wednesday. The bus will be at Country Lane Elementary School in Broken Arrow.
