American Airlines workers were expecting word Friday about layoffs, but employees say an error in the human resources department has caused delays in letting people know who's being fired.
More than 400 people in Tulsa were supposed to get pink slips. Employees tell us at least 65 people were handed severance packages that had to be recalled because of the error. Now, the layoff notices are on hold until Tuesday.
Another Tulsa company is laying off workers in the wake of the September 11th terrorist attacks. Thrifty car rental announced Friday that it will cut 20% of it's workforce. The layoffs also affect employees as Thrifty's operating company, Dollar Rent A Car.
The reductions are being made in every area of operations from management to hourly workers, both in Tulsa and across the country. No word on exactly how many Tulsa workers will be affected.
